PNG examples page

This site is a copy of my old website, www.youmustbejoking.demon.co.uk, retained for historical raisins.

This page is concerned with testing various colour depths and mask types and how the presence of a bKGD chunk affects the rendering of the image.

The left-hand table should be on a grey background; the right-hand table should be using the page background, which is itself a PNG.

Notes

Simple
Except for the addition of simple masks, these images are identical to the unmasked images.
Alpha
These images are plain rectangular areas of colour with the alpha channel providing the image shape. For the paletted images, a tRNS chunk is used; for the rest, a true alpha channel is present.
bKGD
This (the suggested image background colour) is set to white.
Full colour
Each channel is 8-bit.
Image creation
The images present on this page were created using Spr2Png 0.09 and 0.10, and were later optimised by pngcrush.
