This site is a copy of my old website, www.youmustbejoking.demon.co.uk, retained for historical raisins.
This page is concerned with testing various colour depths and mask types and how the presence of a bKGD chunk affects the rendering of the image.
The left-hand table should be on a grey background; the right-hand table should be using the page background, which is itself a PNG.
Notes
- Simple
- Except for the addition of simple masks, these images are identical to the unmasked images.
- Alpha
- These images are plain rectangular areas of colour with the alpha channel providing the image shape. For the paletted images, a
tRNS chunk is used; for the rest, a true alpha channel is present.
- bKGD
- This (the suggested image background colour) is set to white.
- Full colour
- Each channel is 8-bit.
- Image creation
- The images present on this page were created using Spr2Png 0.09 and 0.10, and were later optimised by pngcrush.
